AC&XF MOUNTAIN HOUSE / SUBACHOQUE / 2022 - 2024

Perched at 2,950 meters above sea level, this secluded property offers stunning views of the Subachoque Valley. The design, guided by the client's vision, blends the poetic quality of simplicity, and a deep connection to the surrounding landscape.

The roof is shaped to capture the warm afternoon light, creating a harmonious dialogue between the structure and the natural environment. From the outside, the western façade’s high window reveals trusses resembling the cavity of a wooden musical instrument, while inside, these beams diffuse sunlight, casting dynamic shadows that transform the space throughout the day.

The interior is open and adaptable, designed to serve as both a weekend retreat and a future main residence for a young family. The layout is flexible, accommodating various needs while remaining closely linked to the landscape.

By integrating the design with the natural environment, the house offers a serene retreat that feels timeless and deeply connected to its surroundings.
